A few things that will be happening over the weekend…

Saturday, finally time to rest after a long week. But this Saturday, I have to meet with Fr. Alex Mendez as I am to be confirmed soon. Confirmation is a sorta rite of passage in the Catholic Church. Our original sin is washed away and receive Jesus when we are baptized, this is when we are officially entered into the Catholic Church. At confirmation, we confirm the vows we took at baptism and we receive the Holy Spirit, the helper that Jesus promised us, just like at Pentecost when the disciples received the Holy Spirit.

Also this weekend, RTHK (the local radio station, who also produces several TV series on Hong Kong) is going to be showing a program about our school. They came about ten years ago to document the change from English-medium of instruction to Chinese-medium of instruction as we were one of the first schools to do this. They came back a few weeks ago to see how things have changed over the past decade and how the Chinese-medium of instruction has affected the school. They are going to be showing this on local channel TVB Jade at 7.30 in the evening. On the day they were filming, I was doing the morning prayer; also, I had a friendly chat with the principal during recess and I noticed that they were filming that quite extensively. There is a chance that I'll be on that program this weekend. How exciting.

Time and its passing

My tests just finished and I realized that we're going to have our final exam in about six or seven weeks. I remember last year after the 2nd term tests, I could feel the school atmosphere tense up for the final exam. At the morning assembly every day, teachers and schoolmates would constantly remind us of how much time was left between then and the final exam. It's kinda weird when you can barely remember what happened last week, but when you look back at September when the year started, it seems like it hasn't been that long. Soon, I will be promoted from Secondary 2 to Secondary 3 and edging ever closer to choosing my future.

New blog

This blog has been with Blogger for a very, very long time now. I'm not saying that Blogger is a bad blogging service, but I think that I should have something with more advanced features. So this blog is now moving to WordPress. I've been working on that for some time now and I think it should be known that our new address is http://gabrielgallardo.wordpress.com/. The current site will still be in use, but will be inactive after sometime. Please update your bookmarks accordingly.

Thank You
